Thoughts

Nan, growing up I always remember me, Matt and Megan were always measuring our height next to you. Given your diminutive stature, that always makes me laugh but it's also made me realise that you really were larger than life. From salsa'ing, zumba'ing and even being Josh's dirty dancing partner, you made the most of everything you did and that is how you will always be remembered. Whilst I still don't believe that cerese is a colour and that me and Matty ever locked Megan in the toilet when you went to get frozen peas we will always have happy memories, to this day I still rush my puddings in case your over my shoulder with 'just a small spoon'. We all miss you but I hope wherever you are they've got the good tea bags. Love, Thomas.

Marlene was a huge part of my life throughout my years at The Rep Theatre and after, and she will always be part of my 'Rep family'. We have so many special memories of her - she was always ready with a cup of tea (in a cup not a mug) and a chat at work - a lovely welcome that I looked forward to. She was also famous for 'Marlene's stick' which was specially made for her to lock and unlock the very high doors at work and which she lent to me, understanding the struggles of being on the shorter side! I think of Marlene as always dancing, enjoying all the parties over the years, loving life and her family and friends. She had time for everyone and I was lucky that she was my eldest daughter's godmother. Marlene - always remembered and in our hearts. Nicola, Dominik, Ania, Alex and Sofia xxx

In the short space of time I got to know Marlene it was clear that she was the heart and sole of the family. Always caring, always kind and always putting everyone else’s needs before her own. The vast amount of stories that I have heard over the past few weeks from the people closest to her, only makes me wish I knew her longer. One thing I am certain of, Marlene was always ready for a party, dance shoes at the ready.
