When we heard the very sad news that Marlene had passed away, ironically we were away for a few days in Wales, Marlene special place. I first met Marlene when I was 11yrs old,43 years ago.I had just moved house to Quinton which meant a new school,I soon met Venetta and we became geat pals, leading to lots of time spent at Marlene and Daves.Invites to tea and staying over. I will always remember our grerat chats, normally on the no 9 last bus. Marlene would be be returning home from work Venetta and I from a night out in Birmingham, she always made us laugh quizzing us about the latest boyfreind and offering sound advice. Marlene had many loves in lifebeing, her family and freinds, dancing ,swimming ,walking. She would often coax Venetta and I into joining her on one of her walks which normally ended up as a long hike, not a gentle walk. Marlene loved to travel especially the Greek Islands, our own Shirley Valentine but she did take Dave too. I will miss Marlene loads, a real charicter, full of life and fun always good company and always up for a party, especially weddings. As they say on Stricktly and to quote "Keep Dancing Marlene", night, night and god bless. Much Love Alison xxx (Rob & Ellie)
