One of my many memories of Marlene was some time after breaking her hip, still recovering we went on holiday around the Greek island’s. We traveled with assistance as Marlene was from time to time using a wheelchair, so at Birmingham airport we jumped right to the front of the baggage check in straight to the front at passport control and were first on the plane, then landed at Malta and right onboard the ship in front of everyone else from the plane, who by the way were all on our cruise… That first night of the cruise she was up dancing which just goes to prove nothing but nothing could keep Marlene down.
